The Cricket Nation – Meet Tina Steeley

From time to time we will highlight someone from the Cricket Nation – the people behind Cricket Wireless dedicated to giving you something to smile about. This is the first story of a series where we will shine the spotlight on some of the key people who truly show that Cricket Cares about our customers and the communities we serve.

Tina Steeley, based at our headquarters in Atlanta, is one of the people who works hard at finding ways to share new offers from Cricket and make it easier to activate a new phone. She’s been part of the Cricketn Nation for almost 2 years and is also learning to become a product manager.

She and her team dedicate time each quarter for team building, and it’s often done by getting out of the office and giving back to the community or learning something new. Like much of Cricket, including our president, they are huge supporters of Junior Achievement, and they recently spent a day packaging food at the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Tina says they like donating time at the food bank “because we can accomplish a lot in a short period of time. The food bank says that 1 in 4 kids are food insecure. I could have been one of those kids, so it’s very moving for me.”

5 Questions with Tina

Q:  What’s the one word you’d use to describe yourself as a child?

A:  Outside. I was always outside playing, climbing trees and fences, and playing football. I was not a doll-playing little girl.

A:  My grandmother was my hero.

Q:  If you were to tell one person "Thank You" for helping me become the person I am today, who would it be and what did they do?

A:  Doug McDougald, a former employer who passed away in 1984. He told me I was smart. It changed my life.

Q:  If you could go to any one place on Earth, where would it be?

A:  India

Q:  Go-to smartphone?

A:  I’m a diehard iPhone fan.

How does Tina describe Cricket's culture in just one word? Fun!
