At Cricket Wireless, Back-to-School Means Back-to-Cool!

From our new protection plans to awesome device deals to a referral program that allows customers and their friends to earn extra credit, Cricket is determined to make the end-of-summer blues turn green!

New Device Protection Plans

Like many of us, students manage much of their lives from their wireless device. From calendar holds for late night cram sessions to phone numbers scored from that last frat party to priceless cellphone pics snapped with friends. If that device were ever to get lost or damaged, not only would it be an expensive inconvenience, it could potentially be a social and academic nightmare until the device is replaced.

Just in time for back-to-school, Cricket is launching new features as part of its device protection plans: Cricket Protect Plus and an enhanced Cricket Protect.

  • New Cricket Protect Plus ($10/month):  Includes basic from loss, theft, accidental or liquid damage, in-warranty exchanges and out-of-warranty mechanical and/or electrical malfunctions, PLUS interactive (chat, call, online) tech support through myExpert.  The plan also includes tech support for connected devices, loaded apps and in-app claim filing and 50GB of additional cloud storage (through myPhotoVault).

  • Newly enhanced Cricket Protect ($7/month):  In addition to protection from loss, theft, accidental or liquid damage, in-warranty exchanges and out-of-warranty mechanical and/or electrical malfunctions, Cricket Protect will now include 8GB of additional cloud storage (through myPhotoVault) and static tech support through myExpert.

Refer A Friend Program

The return of the school year is time to reunite with old friends and make a few new ones. Cricket is reminding our customers of all ages there’s a simple, smarter way to do something nice for their friends—and themselves—simply by recommending our service.

With our Refer A Friend program, Cricket customers—and their friends—can earn a $25 account credit for each referral (up to $250 each calendar year) for Cricket service. The account credits can be used towards service and features on the credit-holder’s Cricket Wireless account.

To participate, customers simply send a unique referral code from their myCricket account (online or via the myCricket app), and customers and their friend each receive an automatic credit after 60 days of the new service if the accounts are not cancelled.

Referrers can easily track the status of their referrals in myCricket and the app will also send a text when a credit is applied.

To go to the head of Cricket’s referral class, log into your myCricket account today and click on the Refer A Friend tab.  If you haven’t yet created a myCricket account, you can download the app here.

Staying connected and protected has never been simpler, better or more affordable. Cricket wishes all students, parents and faculty a safe and successful school year.
